| if i have respiratory problems would i be able to get a handicap placard? a few months ago my unti was sent to eielson air force base for a few months. the base is in alaska and we weren't issued cold weather gear. halfway there i got a really bad case of pneumonia and almost died. it left my left lung crippled with scar tissue and damaged bronchial tubes, i'm looking at a medical discharge/retirement which could take a while. the question i want answered is can i get a handicap sign for my car? because i get really worn out and light headed when i walk long distances, or go up stairs. i have a note from my doctor on base, we call it a profile, it's basically a list of things i can't do, no lifting more than 10 pounds, no running, no strenuous activites, no push-ups, no sit-ups, and no walking of more than a 100 yards, no wearing of gas mask, and no high or low impact to upper and lower extremities... if that helps narrow it down... |
