How to recover pictures from Canon/Nikon/Kodak digital camera?

Thank author of this post/commentA couple days ago, I accidentally formatted the memory card of my canon powershot. It was heart-breaking to lose all my photos! However, I did a searching in Google and found this website: any-data-recovery.com Fortunately, I got my photos back! In case that you may need photo recovery, I would like to share it with you guys here!

You can recover lost, deleted or formatted photos from memory card with photo recover software like this:

1. Do not save any new photos into the memory card of your camera.

2. Insert the memory card into a card reader. Connect it with computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.

3. Download digital photo recovery software, recommend one is Tenorshare Data Recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)

4. Install and open the program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your photos.[URL in text deleted]

Thank author of this post/comment"The good old days..."

Do you remember the good old days of MSDOS and Floppy Disk Drives? Then came the hard drives and since they were fixed and not removable, the early versions of format didn't ask if you wanted to continue...

ie: format A: to format a floppy asked you to insert the disk and press return.

however, format C: proceeded the immediately format your hard drive, because the format program knew it was "inserted" and ready to be formated!

What are your suggestions for avoiding such formatting mistakes?
