As a 23 yr old recent college grad. I would like to escape America and head down south to B.A. If I were to live there for 6-12 mos. do I have to get a work visa to work? What about bar/ restaurant jobs, are they easy to get/ under the table? How well paid? can i possibly get a work visa if i acquire a job once I get down there? How wonderful are the steaks and tango? Can't wait!!!! Trackbacks

I think the best steaks are in Brazil. So if you want to pig out on meat check out Rio. Of course you'll need a visa just to enter Brazil (which is good someone is stand up to King George). You won't be disappointed with the steaks (or the low cost of beef) in Argentina. I think you will find everywhere you need a visa to work and pay will be less than you expect. That said, the life experience is worth it. Get your plane ticket and start experiencing life without Walmart!

If your going to stay over 3 months you will need a visa last time I checked. It will be difficult for you to find a job. Also, it is not so awesome as your thinking. Remember this is not Europe or the US&Canada so be careful.

If your not trying to support yourself by working, why would you consider it not so awesome? What does Argentina lack that is found in the USA, Canada and Europe? (outside of the jobmarket).

BA is amazing and it has everything if not more to offer than the US&Europe, it is a beautiful city rich with culture, which is greatly lacking in the us, I mean where in the us can you walk down the street and see old couples doing the tango..it is absolutly superb, I didnt a student exchange in paraguay for 6 mo. and got a chance to vacation in BA and I loved it so much that I'm planning on going back there as soon as the school years over..let me know how the job search goes and maybe ill see you down there!!

B.A??? The best experience I have ever had. There is no comparison to the US whatsoever. YOu can walk down the streets of B.A. and see the people well dressed, not hookers and teenagers with pants so big that their underpants are showing. People treat you with respect and the culture is outstanding like the food. Please don't make comparions with the US.
