Dear Artists,My name is Henry Muldrow. My profession is singer/composer and the past few years I have worked with more than a hundred artists on a series of ABC books with various themes: animals, plants, cities. The Dreamweaver's project is inspired by the limericks and drawings of Edward Lear. Until now the songs and books have all been written in the Dutch language and my foundation (Stichting Culturele Droomwevers - Cultural Dreamweavers Foundation) and I have received some offers from Dutch publishers. Please see our website which has been translated into English: www.droomwevers.nl
The illustrations in the first ABC-book were made by 26 different artists in various styles such as Jet Boeke (Dikkie Dik), Peter Pontiac, Wilbert van der Steen and Willy Lohmann. The original songs were recorded in Amsterdam 26 singers with very different kinds of voices: jazz, musical, classical, blues, pop, gothic, gospel, etc. A few famous Dutch singers such as Gerda Havertong (from Sesame street), Mattijs van de Woerd (first prize winner Wigmore Hall 2003), Denise Jannah (Blue Note Records) and Felix Strategier (Pietje Bell) all sing one song from a letter of the alphabet.
Presently I am searching for 26 artists (one from each of the E.U. countries) for the newest Dreamweaver project "Dreaming in Europe AB-CD-book". This book will be written in English and translated into other languages. The book will be illustrated by one artist from one city in each E.U. country. I am in search of a very good illustrator from Austria to make one illustration for the Dreaming of Europe AB-CD-book.
Interested artists (also from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovenia and Sweden) should contact me for further details about the Droomwever's (Dreamweavers) European project. The deadline for the illustration is 1 july 2007. Thank you very much for your interest.
Yours truly,
Henry Muldrow, artistic director
