i have recently been employed in an NGO in Bangladesh. I wanted to find out if it would be possible to take my own car for personal use to Dhaka from the UK. If so, what are the conditions, duty if any etc.

Hi, Jay
You can take your car to Bangladesh for 6 months, and pay no tax.
also you can keep it in the Country at any time from your arrival date, but you must pay tax & vat of 15 %.
Will the tax starts from 75%, of the perches price of the car , and it could go up to 300%, depends on the car you taking.
Please talk to the Government of Bangladesh transport department,
