What are the basic immigration requirements for retired americans to get residency in Belize?

Hi Jill as far as i know the only requirements are that you have a retirement pension of more than 29000 us dollars.

That seems pretty stiff... about $2, 500/month compared to Panama and Costa Rica which are in the $500-$600/month range.

i would like to inquire whether i can apply for Belize immigration while i am our side of Belize. i am an african now working in one of gulf country . as i am unable to settle in my own country. i am planning to immigrate to the country where i can work and have it's nationality.
