am currently an English Language Lecturer at Caen University in France. I am 45 years old and am a qualified teacher in France, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. I was born in Ireland, but have Irish, British, and French nationality. I have been teaching English since 1985 and am also qualified to teach French Spanish and History. I hold a BA and Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Queen’s University in Belfast, a BA from Caen University in France and the French equivalent of Teacher cert. I currently teach English literature and language at university level and am Head both of our International Relations Dept and the Languages department. If I have decided to contact you it is because I would like to explore the possibilities, if any, of my working within Botswana as a teacher within the next couple of years all the more so as my partner will be coming to your country in any case to work on contract as a doctor. She is specialized in Infectious and Tropical diseases. I have already begun looking at courses in TESOL offered at Bordeaux France. I would be very grateful for any help you could give me and look forward to hearing from you soon!!

Hi MichaelI suggest you visit the website of the Ministry of Education http://www.moe.gov.bw/ and check any division/department you may be interested in to make an inquiry. A good starting point may be the Teaching Service Management because it is the employing Division. Check contacts for all other departments & divisions within the Ministry. Of relevance to your qualifications may also be the University of Botswana (www.ub.bw), Department of Languages. You can also make enquiries with the College of Open & Distance Learning. We also have Colleges of Education, under the Ministry. I hope that helps, and all the best.

I am a Zimbabwean writer living in exile in Europe. I have many publications and my CV includes visiting professor in several US universities and in the UK. I have numerous publications of poetry, novels and essays, which won me the Noma Award literary prize for the best novel from Africa in 1989.My experience varies from teaching at high school level(literature and language) to working in publishing houses as a senior literary editor, and then news agencies and magazines as regional editor for Southern Africa for four years. I have lectured in many universities all over the world and would like to come back home to Africa to teach either creative writing or course writing (teaching lecturers how to write materials for distance education learners). I am one of the founding course writers of the Zimbabwe Open University in the areas of literature and communication. Academically I hold a Diploma in Education (languages), a BA in English and Education plus Communication and Sociology as major minors, and a BA Special Honours in Literature (Literary theory, sociolinguistics, Shakespeare, and African literature). I am also a trained book and newspaper editor, with many years of experience. Having worked in Europe for so many years, my vision is that i should come back home and teach African writers at all levels how to write poetry, dramas, novels and travelogues.
