You haven't lived till you've experienced the beef in Brazil.

Now all of you fast fooders that live on McDonalds and other grease burger than American's love to call food need to get on the next plan to Brazil.

The first restaurant we were told that we could help our selves to the salad bar and that they would bring the meat to our plate.

Ok, the salad bar was grand. There was more than enough to make feast out of -- even for the most devout meat eater.

So, a little salad on the plate (not too much of the warm stuff because it sounded like that was to come soon). Sat back down and out comes a waiter with a slab of meat on a skewer. Off he slices an tiny little piece.

Oh! This is like the all you can eat resturant joke... where you get one little bite and they say, "That's all you can eat! hahahahah!".

Well, one bite is better than none, I guess and there is always the salad bar.

Ok, he finishes serving everyone a tiny piece of wonderfully delicious beef -- better than I've ever had before. Better than what we got in Argentina.

Now we're cooking. Two waiters from our with skewers of meat and slice off tiny pieces for everyone. Each skewer has a different cut of beef (and we don't go into what some of them are... but chicken hearts are included).

The energizer battery people must have gotten their idea from them. They just keep going and going out of the kitchen with more slabs of hot, delicious meat!

Once your finally stuffed and tell them waiters to go away it dawns on you that you forgot to ask how much lunch way! Oh oh!

It wasn't very much, not enough to remeber the price (maybe 5 or 6 bucks). You really couldn't beat the food or the service.

Think about that the next time your knawing on a slimy grease burger in a plastic seat.

Hi George!

LOL! Boy do I miss that!! The type of restaurant is called a Churrasqueria and it IS indeed unique and something to be experienced by those who have not!! LOL!! I lived in Brazil for 4 years and had many Churrasco meals!! =) They do have a couple famous Brazilian chains that have migrated here, Porcao is one and there is another whose name escapes me right now. But, they are in the South mostly... Miami, Texas... I did see one however in Las Vegas the last time I was there a year ago. It was very good, small but good, and well, a little pricier than Brazil, for sure! I'm going back in June, so I'll have a lunch for you!

Tchau!

-Christi
