Just wanted to know what are the imigration laws in the British Virgin Islands and is it expensive to live there.

I had the same goal as you...to retire in the BVI. I ran into a man from Boston who owns a home on Virgin Gorda. He said that if you are NOT working, you can only stay in the BVI for 6 months per year (total of 182 days). That may be split up any way you like however it cannot exceed 6 months. If you are working you can stay as long as you like but then you need a work permit or visa which needs to be renewed ever two years and is rather costly.Hope this helps and if you find a way around this problem let me know. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
