I bought a plot of land with a very old house on it back in june 2005 of this year. I have been told there are quite a few British people that are moving into the houses next to mine. The thing is i would like to build some houses on my plot but obviously don't want to pay out of my nose becuase i am british. My experience so far has been that i pay british tourist prices whilst others seem to get bulgarian prices. If there are any British people out there that could steer me in the right direction i would be very grateful. I local buiulder around the Balchik area would be lovely especially if he speaks English. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

The builders building my property are based in Bulgaria but part of the company is based in England, the person to contact is Craig Thomas phone no 01608642411.

The quality of workmanship is very good and the price is fair by Bulgarian standards. Theres a lot of "cheap cowboys over there". You pay in five instalments and you get photographs of work as it progresses every two weeks.

Our property is in Kavarna, near you and is near to where the building contractor lives(IVAN) he" a charecter but cant speak english but does employ an interpretor.

Hi Steve,

you have lots of questions on this site with few answers. Are you now settled? We are looking to come out to buy in Albena or close to. Comng on the 29th July but finding a nice villa to rent for 3 weeks difficult unless we pay 2400 euros. Can you help? Do you like it out there? We came out last Feb and loved the Admiral hotel but didn't like much of the cold and dowdy Bulgaria!

Hi, if you still interested in contacting bulgarian builders, my husband and I could recomend ours. They are tandem quality working, one of them speaks reasonable english, local people. They are still working in our villa but we are absolutely delighted from their work. Very precise, punctual and responsible, they've been recomended to us as 'BINGO'. Hi to every member of Expat, I like to inform you that I have a Bulgarian friend, who speak very good British English and live in Varna. He can help you get a builder or even look for a good apartment to rent or even a car if you like hire one. His phone number is (+359)884922987, he has got me a building contract for the my house in Avern and even taking care of the project which I think is good. I live in England but do get messages every other ay from him how far my project is going. So I recommend him to you.
