Can they be obtained before arrival or do they have to be applied for by the persons requiring them. Thankyou for your help in this matter. Steve Harley.

Can anyone help we own a property and have now gone over the permited time allowed to visit without a visa, We know we need a C type visa but are not sure what paper work they need other than the passport, birth cert, photo and the visa form.Plus how long do we get the visa for ? will it all end once Bulgaria joins the EU. Any help would be great.

Hi SteveObtaining visa's or a residence card is not so difficult, I have been in Bulgaria for a few years and chose not to use our original agents as they were asking for money all the time. I have 3 children who also needed residence cards and obtained these without to much trouble. The biggest problem of course was language. Our parent are also retirees and have obtained their cards. You are required to proove that you can support yourself and will not require assistance from the country, you will have to provide your passport details, and an address in Bulgaria. Finding the local office was the biggest problem however this can be overcome. Our parents live comfortably on £300 per month UK pension. You will need to have your passport translated and stamped by a registered translator. If you require any other information you are more than welcome to email me at timur.craig@yahoo.co.uk I would like to wish you the very best and hope you enjoy Bulgaria as much as our family does Kindest regards Michelle Craig • Page 1 (Original Post) •
