Troy's Drum Tips for Young Drummers

Thank author of this post/comment

Q: Tell us about the business behind the website

A: there is no business behind the website at this time. I used to be a professional drummer and will likely take on private students in the future. But, at the moment, my business is a solo practice law firm ant the drum tips website I maintain in my spare time for fun.

Q: When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

A: My first website was a student page on the San Francisco State University server. That was back in 1988 when I was in school studying electronic music. It transitioned into a site called "The Island of Lost Toys" that was inspired by a large collection of vintage synths and recording equipment in my studio.

Q: Do you hire SEO services and how has it worked for you?

A: I have followed posts and e-mail newsletters from various SEO folks, but have never hired SEO for any of the sites that I maintain. This particular site was never intended to be a money maker (although I do have a Google AdSense account linked to it) just a hobby.

Q: Do you use Social Media and how?

A: I used to have a "MySpace" account but quickly became numb. I currently have a facebook account that I use to keep connected with extended family and friends, and a linked in account. I have recently stared adding facebook comments to the bottom of posts on my Drum Tips site and have been pleasantly surprised at the thoughtful contributions to a discussion that folks are adding.
