Almost all Wolong pandas will migrate, be sent to Bifengxia Base, 6 pandas migrated on 23May, 13 pandas migrated on 18June, and some will be sent to Chengdu Panda Base. Till today only 35 captive pandas kept in Wolong. And Bifengxia will accommodate about 49 pandas total in the future. During the period of Wolong Rebuilding, almost all Wolong pandas and Wolong work staff will migrated to Bifengxia for training and working.

One Panda "Maomao" died from earthquake. Wolong Research Center will rebuild in Huangcaoping area instead of Heitaoping.

Alternative Panda Volunteer Trip is recovered after Wenchuan Earthquake, and volunteering arranged in Bifengxia mountain park instead of Wolong Center. Bifengxia Panda Base is the branch of Wolong Panda Research Center, with total above 28 captive pandas, about 20 panda Enclosures. Due to the affects of earthquake took on 21May in Wenchuan, many pandas will be moved to Bifengxia from Wolong, so another 10 panda Enclosures will be sooner rebuilt for more pandas coming. Bifengxia, about 150KM from Chengdu, drive about 2-2.5 hours from Chengdu, Bifengxia Panda Base just in Bifengxia Mountain Park. From 10June, some area in Sichuan (earthquake took in Sichuan province on 21May, and still aftershocks hiting) is open to tourists, the Government plan to arrange more tourists by tour coperation or travle company to Sichuan for the tourism recovering. And in June, government pay more attation to do foreigners' group to Sichuan for panda trip, special try to Bifengxia and Chengdu panda base instead of Wolong before the road between Wolong and Chengdu recovered well.
