We are trying to get together a group of people, all older than 12, who are interested in growing up and coming into the wisdom of later years. In this culture, wisdom beyond that of the average 6-year-old is neither recognized, nor needed (apparently). Oh how life could be improved if only humans gave themselves permission to develop and grow BEYOND the maturity level of a schoolboy, BEYOND the level of the adolescent, and BEYOND the prime years, and, the Almighty willing, come into that enviable state of advanced wisdom that is beyond the reach of the young and middle-aged. If only. If we can see the beauty of every age, can look beyond the poop-filled diaper of the baby to see the endearing qualities of that age; can look beyond the sullenness of the adolescent to see the emergence of a questioning mind and independence; can look beyond the conservatism of the middle-aged to see the strength and self-discipline engaged in building something for the future benefit of the next generation; and can see beyond the flabby thighs and white whiskers of the aged to regognize the spiritual gifts of those who HAVE passed through all the previous stages of life, been there and done that, and now are in the unique position of seeing something of WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT; THEN our lives would be more purposeful.
