At what cost?

Yesterday I braved the chill of a November morning in flip-flops and shorts to catch a flight to Costa Rica. Trackbacks

Well at least when you get to Costa Rica the temperatures should be warm and inviting. I wouldn't mind braving the cold in flip flops if I knew my destination was going to be a tropical location with sandy beaches and hot hot sun.

Remember the weather in Costa Rica is based on "micro climates" and yes the beaches are hot hot hot... but the mountain areas can be cold cold cold.

I figured all of Costa Rica was hot. I forget about all of the mountains. But that does make sense that it is cold on and around the mountains. Does it get chilly on the beaches at night?

Yeah i was totally unaware that it would be cold up by the volcanos & mountains! Does anybody know what kind of tempature it tends to be up there?

If you visit the Poas volanco and surrounding areas during the day without a jacket you'll be seriously cold. You won't need a winter jacket, but short sleeves definiately won't do it.
