My friend from Costa Rica is visiting for a week soon. I wanted to surprise her by preparing a costa rica dish. Does anybody have any good suggestions or links to a website full of recipes? Anything would be appreciated, thanks! :)

I have a recipe for Arroz con Leche which is basically rice pudding. It is very popular in Costa Rica. I love it.4 cups milk 2 cups rice 4 cups sugar 1 Tablespoon vanilla ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground cloves or 6 whole cloves ½ teaspoon grated fresh nutmeg 4 oz butter 1 cup raisins Cook rice uncovered in 8 cups of water for 45 minutes. Stir in other ingredients and simmer for 1/2 hour on low heat. Stir occationally so it doesn't get hard on the bottom or clump. Serve warm, or refrigerate four hours to serve cold.

Rice pudding doesn't do it for me. Costa Rican foods aren't that good. Stick to the fruits, they are usually good. Many exotic fruits.

No i didn't see the pictures until you pointed it out to me. These fruits look delicious!! I wonder why resturants don't serve fruits that much? • Page 1 (Original Post) •
