Re-Locate

I would like to Re-Locate to Costa Rico for semi-retirement and yet continue in the Construction / Finance business if available. Have contacts and friends there now.

I say pack your bags and go! Don't plan on a lavish lifestyle and you can survive for a long time with little money while you figure out your construction and finance business there.

Mark,

I'm doing the same. Bought 120 acres I'm developing near Playa del Hermosa/Coco Beach area in NW Pacific- Gulf of Papagayo area- about 7 miles inland. Trying to do an American retirement community. Have had property for 6 yrs and have completed Master Plan, put in 4 new deep wells, electric, and have sold some of the lots. Homeowners Assoc. to avoid urbanization laws have done 1 1/4 acre lots (small farms so agricultural zoning). If you are a builder, you might be interested in working together. I'm making the move in April of 07 for good. 50 lots available and will need builders and investors. Will sell next 4 lots for $35k to get seed money to get the roads built and finish landscaping.

Lots of American's in the area and a lot of opportunity for construction and finance, so you may want to look into it.

Well if you already have friends and contacts in Costa Rica. That should make things easier on you as you will already have connections. I suggest taking a good vacation there and survey the possibility of having a business there. Good luck!
