What are the most popular wrongful assumptions that tourists make when they visit. What ones just make you shake your head and wonder how people can be so stupid? I just saw this one comment from a random girl at some other forum who thought that Costa Rica was a terrority of the USA! Frightening!

Do you know that there are many people that think Costa Rica is part of the United States. Some people relate it for some reason to places like Baja. I have no clue why, but it happens.

I never really noticed that until recently. It's kind of sad how many people know so little about their own homeland! My father lives in Canada and i visit from time to time. A lot of Canadians say that they grow up learning more about USA than they do about their own country! Yet some people in USA know so little about their own country, left alone about other countries out there. Quite sad.
