I am contemplating living in Abidjan as an expatriot of USA and need to know If this is possible and how to get the information to do so. I will be living on my Social Security retirement check and will need to be able to access my Bank of America Account. Is there a bank there that honors visa debit cards and how secure is the service?

Yes you can use you debit card. That's what we do when we go home for vacation. The service is as secure as it is here in the US or in Europe. It's the same Cash Machines everywhere.

Ability Bank does not exist in Abidjan or elsewhere in Africa.

The Ability Bank name is used by several scam operators.
