We are preparing a business plan which is a proposal to build a village of independent assisted living accommodation consisting of 50 purpose built bungalows and apartments near Paphos.
Assisted living is a quite new concept, where people over 55 buy, rent, or lease their own property in a community which provides care for its members. It is a bit like a residential home, except the residents have their own home in the form of a purpose built bungalow or self-contained apartment (no stairs!) which are built specifically with their future in mind. Care workers are on site, medical assistance is easily available, and all maintenance and support work can be done for you. There is a community centre, safe swimming pool, restaurant and gardens. Communal expenses are paid by a community charge, and personal services are paid for as they are performed. If this concept is new to you, have a look at www.newdawncare.com which is an excellent example of how our development is planned. Although we are not directly connected with New Dawn Care, we are in contact with the owners, and have their approval to refer to their website which is a tremendous example. Our own website is under development. Most other examples on the web are in the United States of America where assisted living is becoming increasingly popular.
