My husband is already in Quito and I hope to join him there soon. what is skype/ computer/ internet mobile communication like? I get the impression its next to impossible...? I need to be able to use internet/skype daily if I go? Can you get cards for long distance phone?

Do you have to have a poBox no for ordinary mail? or is the addresss you live at your postal delivery address in Quito? Insights needed please!

My wife and I are going to Ecuador in Dec. To see if it is the place for us to retire. We are Canadians and enjoy the beach, foot hills and mountains .... Thus our problem we do not know where to start and only have 3 weeks. Are their other expats living in Ecuador willing to e-mail us with their thoughts and stories. I hear the cost of housing is low but only see 2 to 300, 000 dollar homes listed. Any help will be appreciated, You never know we could end up next door.
