Hello everyone!I am Egyptian citizen living in the US, would like to ship my 1995 VW Passat car to Alexandria to keep permanently in Egypt. Anyone knows about current import regulations, how much customs I would expect to pay and any regulations about condition of the car? Or anyone knows where I can find the info? Thanks Ismail

Hi there, used cars which are more than one year old I believe are restricted from importaion. If it is less than one year old(since manufacture) than it can enter with a very hefty TAX, I think 80-100%, however for visitors you can bring a car in for 6 months without TAX. I dont know any more than this and if old cars are allowed on this rule which applies to students or part time workers with proof that the car is only in use for 6 monthes, please let me know. Regards, HanMan.p.s household items for importation is easy, less rules.
