Is Meles Really Bad?

I am amazed how many Ethiopians living abroad have lost their objectivity and independent thinking. I was appalled by the death of unarmed civilians in Addis Ababa and I would like to see investigation and even charges against those involved. But going out for demonstration in Washington DC and other places and bashing the EPRDF government will not result in any solution. The Melese government had done many mistakes but we should also recognize that they have also done many good things. Stop being naive and ask yourself next time you are standing in a demonstration whether you are just there for the social event or really believe of what you are doing. You are actually hurting the country as a whole when you describe the present government as a tyrant, investment money will stop flowing, instability creates shortage of essential amenities, etc..

1.independence(we are colonies of woyane)

2.economic crises(extremely poor)

so why do ask whether meles(woyane) is good or bad?

is it a question to be asked for pure ethiopians? however one who has been given his dinner may say woyane(meles) is good.

In my eyes i think that meles is a wonderfull man if doing a fantastic job as being the priminster of Ethiopia. Where should i satrt thee Addis people have no right to do to the city and protest and ask for george's bush's help tough luck it didnt work cause you think your gonna take meles down your going to have to pass him. i reakon that the addis people,, the people who protested are people who have no lifee and are angry casue the prim minster is form Tigray. YOu know when i finsh school i am going to be a politiann and instead of being a politian for australia i will be working in Ethiopia. Why are you worrying so much about Meles? If you wish to know who is in charge and why, please go to www.eprdf.org.et and check out the Basic Documents section.

As for what is happening here, I recommend you come and see - or even checkout the reports of the IMF, World Bank or any other source of country information you trust.

I would't even dignify the racist and chauvinst comments.

Ethiopia accepted Meles and his party during dire situation when Mengistu and his fascist administration was unable lead in a civil democratic way from day two. The present EPRDF would have paved the way for better party. However, there is none. The EPRDF has set up socio-political-economic mechanisms to abhor democratic rights. Meles and his party have even eludes the most renown international observers, to that effect in the name of fighting terrorism, have obtained the status of friendly nation around the horn. This on the other hand has the cause of fermenting and backstage intensifying the situation with warlords that the CIA needs to investigate. The geo strategic position of Somali and the demagogy of the warlords attributing the problem to the American foreign policy on one hand has helped him to extend residency. Culturally Ethiopians hare forgivers, but I do not think, Meles deserves one and should be trained in court he has circumvented the law to protect himself when another PM is elected If elected. The Party of the few would be tried for many documented reasons, to mention few:

1. Violating Ethiopia's territorial integrity; and

2. Human Right violation

3. Fermenting ultra nationalism, there by disestablishing Ethiopian's progress.

4. Irrelevant economic planning, and control; and for anti human capital development, to mention few.

Ethiopians on the other hand must be thankful for the infrastructures initiatives, i.e. roads, around Addis, the Sheraton Hotel, the price of teff

Nobody in his right mind can question the abilities of Meles to lead our country. My overall assesment of the EPRDF is that they are doing a good job in building a nation & they deserve at least a little bit of appreciation & support. I'm against all these irrational hatred some people exhibit towards this government. Instead of criticizing & blaming this government for every misfortune, why don't you guys try to contribute constructively in this noble work of building a nation, which I believe this government is doing pretty well. If you're not man enough to do this, then shut your big mouth up!

in my opinion meles is not bad, he is better than the past leader's.he's the only one leader who have led ethiopia from being called the poorest country to developing country.i was denaid a lot of right by the curent goverment thou, i don't blame the goverment.

Personally Meles has good mind and I appreciate that........BUT it is not his mind which makes him good or bad but what he did. So what meles did for poor Ethiopian? To be frank for only a few people he has done so many good things( who are those people?). And they are living good life. For them meles is very nice. But for the rest of Ethiopian Meles is very very bad person. You can come and see my town. How people are in trouble. Anyways i am very sorry for his bad deeds. But the only option i can say to him is that PLEASE USE YOUR MIND FOR GOOD THINGS, IT IS A GIFT FROM GOD SO DO NOT USE IT FOR WRONG PURPOSE WE ALL ARE HUMAN BEING....PLEASE STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING LET US CHANGE OUR COUNTRY.......LET LIVE PEACE FULL LIFE.......EVERY THING WILL PASS BUT THE MAIN THING IS TO PUT SOME THING GOOD FOR THE NEXT GENERATION........... i do not understand what you want to ask really you got mad with uncounted of wealth you got form woyane or you are simply woyane.look we are stolen a lot not only freedom but also all our natural property/land that we are given from god so do you think that it is hide that woyane/tigre is naturally tiff/Leba and their plan is clear that is to make many intellectual and reach Tigre in east Africa.it is simply illusion but you know it is very short time to be sent to the court each

woyane and supporters to return back all money robbered from oromia so dont hurry you will see it.finally something to recommend all non woyane people pls get ready how to kill and mix with soil woyane/tigres bodys make sure world will think easy ruwanda genocide because operation in destroying woyane/tigre will be registered as the first genocide history in the world all non woyae/tigre be ready and think to wise for this great mission.

Don't worry weather PM Meles is good or bad, while try to assess the current economic situation with it's short & long term factors. Please, judge rational & try to avoid your internal & personal feeling which leds you for bias judge only on the actions performed only. and lastly please, try to contribute your best to rebuild Ethiopia.

meles is bad or good leader? thats not the issue. pesonally i dont have a problem with the zenawi i have the problem with his personal political outlook which is divide by race and by language for his own benefit. to judge him personally i dont know him thats not my cup of tea we have to fight his political outlook his party outlook they have a long term party political programme which is based on the oromia natural wealth to make prosperity for tigrayns . but now time is running out for the weyane party.

His excellence Prime Minster Meles Zenawi is not a bad leader. Rather he is a visionary who always thinks a bit advanced than those who seem nationalist by their talk but contributes less than Zero for their mother land. Dear Brothers and Sisters, it is simple to stay far away in the west and criticize those people who fight to eradicate poverty, illiteracy, health problem, sanitation problem, economic depression, boarder conflicts, political conflicts, justice problem, weather problem, westerns harassing, dictators invasion, …………………. Hero to me is the leader who fights in this battle field, setting him self in the front line, mobilizing other millions, to defeat all these enemies of ours. Please open your eye, watch what is going on in your country, and contribute your own on top of what is done. Abhorrence is I think the main source for what we are now!!!!!!!!!

Loving each other is our spring board to become better than our current position!!!!! Think positive, do the right, act today, and inspire for better tomorrow in your country….But if this is not possible to you, please do not comment in an evil way, not to discourage those who are struggling for better tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
