I have tried for years to help African runners with computers in Kenya and Ethiopia. They love to run, are happy, simple, stupid people who say they are in need -they are born to run, being genetically more suited to it than the rest of us. They win the medals and trophies and are poor -BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THEIR CONDITIONS AND CHANGE THEIR LIFESTYLES SO THEY MAKE THEMSELVES MORE USEFUL TO THE WORLD.
They will want all kinds of free gifts, PCs, medicine, food, you name it, then all this charity will do is increase dependence. When I contacted individuals on this forum offering recycled computers and simply wanting to publicise the effort through local contacts eg TV I was met with excuses and apathy.
