I am planning to visit Fiji in June for a honeymoon. We would like to see Taveuni for diving and topside nature attractions, Beqa Lagoon for shark diving, and then possibly Yasawas for beautiful beaches and snorkeling.
We are looking for private, romantic but unpretentious accommodations (not the fancy hotels) and have a couple in mind in Matei Point on Taveuni.
Any ideas on places to stay?
Also - my concern is regarding rain. I thought we chose the month of least rain - but have read many reports about LOTS OF rain in Taveuni and Beqa during May, June and July.
Any help is sincerely appreciated!

Contact Wendy at fijipalms@connect.com.fj. It is a small time-share in Pacific Harbour facing Bega. We own there, but I understand they do rent out the condo's upon availability. It's a wonderful place to stay.
I'm very familiar with that area and a small area in the western Yaswas. We got married in a village there and have practically become part of the family.
I also did the shark feeding dive and it's pretty remarkable. I go there at least once a year. I'm not too familiar with Taveuni. I do know a travel agent, Judy in L.A. who specializes in that area. Email me and I will send you her info. She's been extremely helpful and extremely nice.
Fiji is a wonderful place. As far as rain, I've been in Pacific Harbour every summer for the last 3 or 4 years and even though it's the rainy side of the mainland, it's sporadic. If you have any questions about Fiji, email me and I'll tell you all I know!
