I don't see how a visit to Georgia would help improve ties with Russia. Atlanta is only 10 hours drive from Washington DC, and the Russian immigrant population in Georgia is quite small. If Bush wants to forge contacts with the Russians, he should at least leave the country. It is astounding how insular and unknowledgable our president is about geography that he would think visiting a southern US state might advance international diplomacy
