Guam - Politics R. Underwood Guam a real political liar Dr. Octavio Maclapinas (222.126.100.226) -
quote from R.Underwood:"As a former member of Congress, he has said he does not believe in paying lobbyists who promise to open doors to the decision-makers in the nation's capital, saying that there's no substitute for hard work in trying to get one's message across to lawmakers." At the same time R.Underwood member of a congressional delegation travels on a trip arranged by Abramoff to the Marshall Islands, where multi million dollar settlements and lobbying contracts for Howard Hills (we all know about that-Hills is Abramoff) have been negotiated. To Filipino voters on Guam.Robert Underwood is using Filipino's to win the election. I would say Filipino's are damn. May be they are promised a cabinet member position, other jobs, board member jobs, etc. and they believed him. In his (Underwood) heart and soul he hate Filipino's. He once stated that he don't need Filipino votes and that Filipino eat like pig (usinh their hands to eat)

Question to Underwood/Aguon Filipino supporters:1. Does Underwood or Aguon ever employed Filipinos on their office as Congressman and Senator? Comments: Any Filipinos who will vote for Underwood/Aguon is out of their mind. The Filipino campaign leaders are promised a job and you the other filipinos are being used by both the Filipino leaders and Underwood/Aguon. I wonder what you'll get in return. Don't let any devil use you. If you think both candidate don't deserved to be elected then don't vote. Filipinos in Guam don't have unity and everyone knows that, shame on you. But one vote of stupid filipino count so go ahead, vote for UA to be fully certified as damn Filipino..good luck damn Pinoy. Oh by the way. When Underwood goes home after a long hard campaign event he take a shower and wash his hands with sterilizer cream and just to think of how many Filipinos he shake hands with and talk to make him puke. Now he said 50 more days and good bye Filipino. His secretary is trained to screen all calls and the instruction is......if the caller is Filipinos tell them you will return his/her call....but will never do. Tha is is he wins. But I doubt it.

Although I'm a Democrat, because of Underwood's attitude towardFilipinos, I WILL vote for Governor Camacho (Republican) rather than seeing a democrat ruin the democracy of the people. Underwood's mentality is uncivilize and should not be put in a position where it requires empathy and/or sympathy for the people. In my opinion he is selfish. Nowadays, the mentality of being prejudice toward the other race should not even exist.

Cheer up guys! Bob doesn't think that only Filipinos are stupid, he thinks Chamorros are stupid too! Hahahaha. This clown. But hey, if the people of Guam want this two-faced, racist liar as their governor - then so be it! I'm moving back home anyway!

The anti-Filipino remark against Robert Underwood is already a thing of the past. The negative flyer has been refuted with entails of Underwood's accomplishments not only towards Chamorros but also to non-Guamanians such as Filipinos. You can call a Filipino dumb and stupid if and only if such a person will vote for Camacho who actually never accomplished anything without pre-determined federal funds; together with his malpractice prone running mate doctor.

Dr. Octavio Maclapinas, how a doctor like you could not even comprehend the link you are pasting here? Try re-reading them in order to be more informative and don't be a quack :)

Marcus Philomena, as long as the individual contribution is below $1, 001.00, it is still within the federal election law; and nothing illegal about it (as in a lightbulb!) :)

"In his (Underwood) heart and soul he hate Filipino's. He once stated that he don't need Filipino votes and that Filipino eat like pig (usinh their hands to eat)"-- Relhelm Vergonia, how did you know? If Robert Underwood really hates Filipinos then he would have not introduced the VA pension Equity Bill for WWII Filipino Veterans. Try to research and read on page four (4) about the inclusion of Filipino Veterans in the OFFICIAL UNITED STATES BOOKLET: fEDERAL bENEFITS FOR vETERANS aND dEPENDENTS oF 2002; the year your hated Underwood was still in office. Sometimes, ignorance destroy a person's credibility ;)

"1. Does Underwood or Aguon ever employed Filipinos on their office as Congressman and Senator?"-- Yes, they do! And they are very proud to work under these two good-natured people. ;) Btw, according to the current poll report, Caucasians, Chamorros, and Filipinos have been polled almost 2 to 1 ratio in favor of the U/A Team :) Perhaps, they are all stupid voting for Underwood because your smart and intelligible brain tells you so ;)

Hey CFELIX - visit my website and then maybe you too will tone down you anti-filipino statements you are posting here and on PDN just like your candidate Robert Underwood. Don't bash the good doctor for saying what he feels. Go to http://www.geocities.com/theguamtruth/underwood and see for yourself. In his own words… Robert Underwood called our Filipino community the “Filipino menace”: “The refusal of stateside Americans to understand that he is essentially an immigrant complicates the question… He, too, can speak of the Filipino menace to his Chamorro friends and say that the island isn’t what it was like 15 years ago.” “A Chamorro Challenge to Statesiders” written by Robert Underwood (June 24, 1977) Robert Underwood called Filipinos “imported employees”: “Robert A. Underwood, speaking for the Organization of People for Indigenous Rights to the U.N.’s Special Committee on Decolonization, said that with the influx of mainlanders and their imported employees, the Chamorros are in danger of becoming strangers in their own land.” Pacific Daily News article (August 7, 1982) In his own words… Robert Underwood said he believes that Filipinos and Asians only come to Guam for money and don’t care about what happens to our island community: “Because Filipinos and Asians came to Guam for economic reasons, they have not concerned themselves with Guam’s political and social institutions, other than to accede to the institutions’ demands. They play out their economic role and only utilize, rather than contribute to, the formulation of the island’s non-economic institutions.” “A Chamorro Challenge to Statesiders” written by Robert Underwood (June 24, 1977) In his own words… Robert Underwood said that Chamorros are in danger of becoming a minority and losing political power because so many Filipinos are coming to Guam: “The Chamorro people still constitute the largest group and generally control the political structure of the Government of Guam. However, based on the rate of Chamorro out-migration and Asian (especially Filipino) in-migration during the past three decades, this will no longer be the case.” Chamorro Studies Association speech by Robert Underwood (July 1987) Robert Underwood compares non-Chamorro Guamanians to his dog: “Guamanian means anyone who lives in Guam. It gives legitimacy to those who want to deny that they have immigrant status on Guam and allows them to make claims on the island’s past and future… If, then, the essence of being “Guamanian” is defined in terms of geography, then it has lost all meaning to me. My dog qualifies to be “Guamanian” under this operational definition.” “A Chamorro Challenge to Statesiders” written by Robert Underwood (June 24, 1977)

I have been there and it does not change the fact that when Robert Underwood was still in Congress, he did a lot of things for the Filipinos. In which you visibly ignore. The truth is now and not dwell in the past or else your thinking will just be antiquated as is with other people who are really blind with superficial accomplishments. Do you think your younger brother or son would still stay naughty and hard-headed until they grow up? I doubt that simply for the reason that self-actaulization in the character of a man change with time (as in a lightbulb)Why would you think the Philippine Government give the Presidential Merit Award if Robert Underwood is not thoroughly checked of his personality and character? Try reseacrh on that and read and learn for the conferrals of the president herself as viewed by the Filipino people. Don't your imperfect perception presuppose the existence of a true nature which is not yet perceived. So seek for the truth. Didn't you know that former Filipino Guerillas and Veterans living in the Philippines are already receiving allotment from the U.S. Government? Did you also know that before Robert Underwood left Congress, there is already a resolution being introduced as an IMPROVEMENT ACT FOR FILIPINO VETRERANS OF WWII? Did you also know that with the cooperation of his office, 110 Filipino Veterans were naturalized in Guam after bringing them from the Philippines? I bet you don't know those ;) If you want to know more about the real character of THE CURRENT ROBERT UNDERWOOD simply go to their camp and ask for the 3-page flyers refuting all of your negative sentiments. Olt, did you know that 29yrs of gap is more than enough for a well-disciplined person to learn that no man is an island? What more to an elementary kid or son using those years toward maturity ;)

In regards to your good doctor, well it is sad to say that most people won't take a chance in giving their votes to a person who has committed not only once or twice but more malpractices during his medical capacity to serve. I know no one is perfect but would you like your wife or dad have their surgery done by him? I doubt that you are gonna take that chance :) The chance is - you won't ;)

Yo' The Guam Truth from Guam, it seems that you can no longer defend your Lord Camacho :) of all the campaign lies you created. Everytime you post something, I would rather refute you with Underwood's accomplishments; that way people will be able to know that your Lord Camacho is nothing but a fluke. He's never been an outstanding senator when he was still in the Legislature and same now while he is the current governor. Is that the kind of governor you want to defend? Anyway, for the sake of argument, why don't you post all of your Lord Camacho's accomplishments and will talk about it ;) That is if you have the guts in proving me wrong :] GO FOR IT

By Gina Peralta-Elorde10/28/2006 Perhaps it surprises many why this column’s interest has shifted to the politics in Guam. There is reason for this: A gubernatorial candidate has a history of being anti-Filipino. The coming Nov. 7 polls would therefore be crucial to ethnic Filipinos there, since candidate Robert Underwood has at one time, compared Filipinos and other non-Chamorro Guamanians to his dog. Guam is a trust territory of the US located near the Northern Marianas islands. Of the island’s 168, 564 population, 47 percent are ethnic Guamanians or Chamorros, 25 percent Filipinos, 18 percent Asian, and 10 percent Caucasians. This racist has, in the past, been spewing nasty remarks against Filipinos. His style of wanting to preserve Guamanian ethnic and cultural heritage is to lash out at Filipinos, blaming them for Guam’s fading heritage. He ignores the fact that Filipinos have long established their cultural, commercial and historical ties with Guam even before the Americans came. For that matter one could hardly distinguish a Filipino from a native Chamorro, except for the occasional signs of indigenous traits. Underwood himself acknowledged there is at least one Filipino progenitor in each and every Chamorro family. If this backwater nationalist is resentful of what has happened to the island, he should direct his tirades against the state that colonized and continues to occupy Guam without the benefit of allowing it to join the union. It is the US, and not the Filipinos, that holds the future political, economic, social and cultural status of the island. In contrast to the white mainlanders who came to grab the island and make use of its strategic value, the Filipinos came to permanently settle and do business with the intention of contributing to its prosperity. Underwood fails to see this since he is engrossed in his xenophobic fear that Filipinos and Orientals as not contributing to the formulation of the island’s non-economic institutions, an obvious contradiction to his hackneyed nationalism. If there is one culture that could eradicate the Chamorro culture, it is the culture of its present colonizer. The Filipinos could not stop that trend as they themselves are being influenced by the American culture. Now that Underwood is running against incumbent Gov. Felix Camacho, he finds it most congenial to suddenly identify himself with the Filipino community. He who claims to be a full-blooded Chamorro but sports a white man’s name managed to get himself a Presidential Merit Award from Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. In his desperation to win, he has also hired Filipino movie stars to endorse his candidacy, but this will fail. He has already united the Filipino community against him by singling the Filipinos out and calling them a menace to the Chamorro heritage. If the Filipinos in Guam long considered themselves Guamanians, it was his rubble-rousing racism that rekindled their spirit of being a Filipino.
