The Underwood Platform or the Joke of the Century?The following is UW’s Platform written by an educator/teacher, but the major part of this platform is missing!
The educator Robert Underwood forgot to tell the people, how he is going to do it, which would be considered the heart of a Platform.
It’s a sh…t load of the SAME OLD............
quote;
ROBERT A. UNDERWOOD
Today, I am proud to present our Platform. We call it “A New Direction for Guam- Leadership for Change.” It is indeed a plan moving in a new direction because the past twelve years, our people have seen mismanagement, political infighting, and neglect of our people’s basic needs. This is our Plan to move Guam in the RIGHT direction.
The Underwood/Aguon Team platform is built on the principles of democracy, community involvement and empowerment. It was created with the guidance of seasoned island leaders and with the voices, vision and advice of hundreds of residents during UA’s village walks, meetings and gatherings. The “Leadership for Change” platform embodies the spirit of our people, the wisdom of our manamko’, the energy of our youth and the leadership quality of our candidates.
This platform addresses the economic, political and social challenges our people face, and the solutions the Underwood/Aguon Team offers. The platform champions our educational system, presents concrete plans to revitalize our economy, improve and ensure quality health care, establish open and good government, secure homes and families, and make Guam shine and thrive in the Pacific region. Most especially, this platform reveals how the Underwood/Aguon Team will serve and lead with innovation, courage, and collaboration.
We, the people of Guam, from Humatak to Yigo, share similar desires and dreams for our families- para i tao tao, para sa kinabukasan ng lahat.
We want the best education, an efficient health care system, and safe and secure homes. We want consistent water pressure and clean drinkable water to flow from our taps. We want meaningful, higher paying jobs that ensure a comfortable living for our families. We struggle to make ends meet and are dissatisfied with existing government services. We are uncertain about our island’s future. But the challenges we encounter are not insurmountable.
We need CHANGE in order to move forward in the 21st century. We want leadership that is innovative and decisive, and has the courage to pursue new dreams and make changes for the betterment of our island. We need reliable leaders in Adelup who are mindful of their responsibilities to all the people of Guam and who have a proven record of doing what is best for us. Most importantly, we need an executive Team that will have accountability and integrity. Anything less jeopardizes our future.
Frank and I are prepared for the challenges of leading and managing our government. Our decades of public, private, and military experience and service are unique and afford us a broad perspective on Guam’s challenges and how to address them.
This Platform details our plans as we move forward –WHAT PLANS, WHERE ARE THEY?
