This intensive 3-hour class, designed for artists in any stage of their career, will introduce you to 20 different ways to increase your visibility and exposure in your marketplace, eventually leading to more art sales and higher profits for your art business. In today’s competitive market, it is imperative that artists not only polish their skills in their art form, but also hone their skills in business. Talent alone may get you so far, but with strong business and marketing skills backing the talent, the potential is even greater.
Learn about various business and promotional tools that will help to elevate your career in fine art. In this class you will learn how to gain exposure through publicity, marketing, promotion, producing print materials, developing your presence on the internet, researching your market, building and managing mailing lists, building a brand, seeking retail and gallery accounts, writing and submitting press releases, and much more as well as the basics of computer technology and its application and importance to your art business.
Carolyn Quan has been a successful, self-employed artist for the past 22 years
in Toronto, New York, Maui and Honolulu, Hawaii. Her creative business ventures include a successful graphic design company in New York City that specialized in the music and entertainment industries; a nationally distributed full-color, glossy magazine; The Quan Gallery on Front Street in Lahaina; and her signature art gallery in Waikiki. Her experience and knowledge of the business world, technology, publishing, graphic design, marketing and promotion have all contributed to her success as an independent artist.
