The ways they used to get at “Whistle Blowers” and those who are middle class and now the NEW POOR OF THE USA.

The Illinois Toll Roads have become a place of HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Yes, just like in the times of “Merry Ol” Robin Hood” a new level of stealing is being formed under Illinois Department of Highway, whereby if you are Middle Class, Poor Spanish and or the main one “BLACK” and driving in Illinois you are a target of outrageous tolls and traffick tickets but here are some of the past fact that no one will look into.....

The fact is there were many, many scandals within the Department of Highways whereby there were allegations of out and out THEFT by those involved at high levels in running this Illinois based business.

For one SCANDAL NEVER PAID BACK..... was the report that those within the “Department” TOP Executives and others were allowed to take trips and spend Millions of Highway Dollars for huge parties and trips made outside of Illinois made possible on the backs and sweat of Citizens within Illinois.

The news stories broke and went no where, because the money was GONE FOR GOOD, instead of forcing the thefts to replace the money they decided to increase the tolls to make of for these parties and trips. The “Executives went off and got hired somewhere else.

Then there was the woman who Highway Officials even noticing that SHE WAS NOT A STATE HIGHWAY EMPLOYEE< who stole over $300,000 dollars of more. In fact she was invited to Xmas parties until about a year or two later someone looked at the employee records and found out she did not belong there.

Then there was the Issue of a fraud committed by a US Justice i.e. Judge was had financial relationships with the Illinois Highway Department who handles the tolls, all of this never replaced NOT ONE DIME OF THEFT MONEY all that happened what that the MONEY HAD TO BE REPLACED BY OVERCHARGING THE PUBLIC... AND TRUCKERS.

Then you have other things like many of the machines are faulty whereby if you place money in then they do not work at all BUT THEY HAVE A BIG CAMERA WATCHING YOUR PLATES, if your tossed money into these things and it’s over the amount there is no refund and if the machine does not work there is the camera CHARGE YOU ANYWAY!

There are folks out there with under a $5.00 toll fee for not paying the fines, which equate to then sending bills and suspension letters out for over $1,000.00, I got one for 5 items which I am not allowed to protest and if you do you are still guilty because the only way you can protest a fine is if you are not the only of the car, and or paid all fines, if you died they can see charge you. Its about giving the trolls money no matter what and you have no rights.

And if you are one of the many people who have to go into the suburbs to work because they make it hard for you to get a job in the city, because the city of the Chicago seeks the suburbanite to work and live there, and those folks getting paid $6-12 per hours come into the suburbs to scatch up money just to make it for a while. You see the rents in the city are very high and many people are just making it.... Does the Government you have voted in care about this ......NO!

So they can without question and or being investigated charge and level outrageous fines and fees to stop you from working and living!

Just think you have gone out and voted these people into office and they didn’t care about you, hmm. Or did you really vote them in?

When I worked for the Government I saw them run out of money within one office and then move it to another place to pay another bills. So if you think all your money is going into the public schools think again..

I did a radio broadcast about this issue on Monday April18th, because I was outrageous to see this, ( I got a $400 fine for alleged running a IPASS stop 5 times whereby the tolls were .15c. 35c. 40c. All totaling $1.35. This is just as bad as the Juice Loan era but this one is being hustled out by the Illinois Department of Highways.

And truck drivers are being forced to payoff outrageous fees, to bring us food and other goods, they were paying $80.00 which is now $380.00 and indeed this was reported again and again but we need to ask these folks where has all this money gone too?

There is not money in schools, nor within CTA and services for the poor. It’s the Sheriff of NOTTINGHAM and what is it with our Governor who was the man for the poor and underdog... geez he was taken over too....

I AM LOOKING FOR VICTIMS OF THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT OF Illinois please call me I would like to share your story on the air........ We need to vote those involved in this scandal out of office. ......

The Illinois toll system is a complete scam. I got three tollway violations that I never did. After examining the photos it was not my license plate. I had to spend ages on the phone to dispute it. They did reverse all three, but they would not have given me my money back if I paid. I can believe that one is a mistake, but not three. All cars where of the same make and model that I have. It is an elaborate scam.

Last week on my way home from college, a toll would not accept my money (I put more than $1 in a 70 cent toll). When I called the highway department, a computer assured me that the toll knew when it was broken and I would not be charged. I will have to wait till enough other bogus charges pile on to see if it is true. I will update you when it comes.

June 2008 - I recently received a "violations" document from the state of Illinois (I live in Missouri) for alleged Thanksgiving toll violations.

So far, when I see other complaints on the web, they're just like mine: Three violiations. Coincidence? I think not.

I know for a fact that I paid all tolls. But you know - if the state of ILLinois just tried to pretend it was one toll, I might not really get too upset about it. But three? Who do they think they're kidding?

I wonder how many of us driving up from St. Louis to Chicago over last Thanksgiving received these violations. A lot, I'll bet.

IPASS has ruined my summer. The past three weeks I have gotten a total of 3 letters from ipass stating that I ran the tolls from November through May. I got a total of $990 in fees because I ran the tolls 48 times. I understand it was my own fault but for the fees to be so high and outstanding is insane. I am scheduled to leave to California next friday for vacation. I almost had to cancel my trip to California because of ipass. I haven't left my house since I got the ipass tickets because I barely have money to live on!! When will it end? I am sure I will get another bill somewhere down the line stating I ran the tollway. I am almost positive they added fees onto my ipass ticket, there is no way I ran that many tolls. It's gotten out of control.

I received toll violations in the spring 2008 & spoke to a rep at I-pas and was told after I reactivated my old account my violations would "go away" (2 transponders) for about $81 fine with possibly 3 iolations. I asked that my husband be tied to that account also so he would not receive violations. I was told that could be done. I received a voicemail from I-pass asking for another $40. I returned the call and said pull the fees. I thought everything was alright with my husband as well until I opened up 2 violations for him (starting in the same time period that mine had been in) in the amont of $1200 for $51.10 in "tolls". Please note I had another active account that's credit card just expired at the end of September. BASICALLY the rep I spoke to in the spring didn't do what she said she was going to do & I-pass doesn't care, they don't even see a note that this conversation happened, but I still have the old rep's voicemail saved. Because of negligence on the part of I-Pass I am now granted a discount fine of $251.10 which must be paid tomorrow or they suspend my husbands license plate & drivers licens. BIG SCAM! We're all helping pay Blagojevich's legal fees. What a scam!

I just received a letter charging me for 3 missed tolls. I did not miss any tolls ! I am Vice President of a Conveyor corporation. I did not miss three .80 cent tolls. I have a witness that was with me. We stopped at every toll, there was an attendant that I paid .80 cents to and then waited for this attendant to raise a gate arm. I did not go through any automatic coin tolls, nor did I go through any I-Pass lanes.

I have been to Illinois several times and have never missed a toll. This is a huge FARCE !

I received notification in the mail stating that I owed $62.40 and if past the due date, which it was, I would owe $212.40. Wondering how this could happen I decided to contact them first thing in the morning. While waiting for 15 minutes due to high call volume, I remembered that I could log in on-line. After figuring out, the not so often used, user name and password to log in, I realized that I didn't update my temporary plate information to my new plate information. It should be the responsibility of I-pass to send out a reminder and/or shut off the transponder to inform the driver that something has changed, instead of continuing to charge them for the tolls and then claim that because their information is not updated, they have to eat the original toll fees that were deducted and also assume these phantom costs.

After speaking to the mildly agitated customer service rep, she told me that I had to pay $20 (some I-Pass Bull$het Fee) and the unpaid tolls of $2.40. I asked her how could I have any unpaid tolls, when my transponder is registering all the toll transactions which are shown on-line and it is automatically deducting $40 from my checking account every time it reaches $10? This is really aggravating because they originally wanted to charge me $212.40 over $2.40 of what they are stating are unpaid tolls, which is impossible to have incurred in the first place if you have a transponder that works, so I paid the $22.40. Completely ridiculous!

I too am a victim of the Illinois Tollway Scam! My three sisters and I drove from Kentucky to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for an evaluation of my heart condition. We were unfamiliar with the toll system and accidentally got in the IPASS lane, Since there was no one there and traffic behind us, we had to go on through. We told the toll worker at the next stop what happened, she gave us an envelope and instructions to send in one dollar. We paid many tolls all the way up there and back, paid the one dollar after getting back home, thought we had taken care of our liability. TODAY, My 70 year old sister, whose car we drove, told me she received the threatening letter stating we had run through five toll stations without paying and if not paid, her driver's license would be revoked. They claim they have photos of her license plate going through without paying. I was absolutely outraged! We were very careful after getting in the wrong lane one time, paid all the tolls, were given the green light to proceed, and the bar lifted. I knew it was a scam as soon as my sister called to tell me about it but she was so worried they would take her license, she paid the fine. I can't believe the Traffic Department is so inept they can't determine whose paid the toll and who hasn't. It is totally unbelievable to me that unsuspecting travelers can be held up this way! What a horrible scam!

We also have fallen to this SCAM!!! Being from Kentucky me and my husband drove through Illinois. When the first toll came up it came up on us so fast we couldn't get over and went right through the I-pass. Then we realized after about 3 tolls what was going on. So we stopped and paid told the lady we had missed tolls. She gave us a little piece of paper telling us to go online. What a crock. When we went on line we couldn't even figure out what tolls to pay. Then recieved a bill for $80. Called guy on the phone was quite rude about it. Had to pay the $80 or it was going to go up to $200 in a couple days. On the way back we went 30 minutes out of our way to avoid the tolls because we had never heard of anything so stupid in all of our lives and was confused. I would gladly go hours out my way to avoid this stupid tollway. My advice is to avoid it all together!!!!!!!
