Can a person legally install outside surveillance equipment on their on property?

I think you should direct legal questions to an attorney... not to every random person in the world that may wish to offer their opinion.

You may also find there is a big difference between audio surveillance, video surveillance and human surveillance... ie: do you want to install microphones? Video Cameras? People? Motion Sensors?

Does anyone have knowledge if the State of Illinois or any county herein, has laws that cover installation and use of outside video surveillance camera equipment on their on private property, please advise?
