Hello there! I have plans of retiring in Indonesia. I am an American, 45 years old and would like to spen my golden years in Indonesia or probably in the Philippines.

my best recommend for you is bali, bali is wellknown place, many expat retire and live in bali. great place, friendly people, you'll get good rates with us$ in indonesia, etc. many many things i can give you reason why bali is my best recomended,

I am in Lombok, everything here is 1/2 the price of Bali, which is only 20 mins away by plane.

The most difficult thing here is adjusting to the

Muslim culture, but if you can, this is a great place!!!!

My advice is to rent for a year, WHERE ever you go, leave some flexibility.
