Video: USS Iowa BB 61 at Suisun Bay 8/16/2008

Thank author of this post/commentOn the morning of August 16th 2008, The World War 2 era Liberty Ship SS Jeremiah O'Brien left Pier 45 in San Francisco, California and headed toward the National Defense Reserve Fleet at Suisun Bay, California. Also known as the "Mothball Fleet" or "Ghost Fleet". Most of the ships that make up the fleet are World War 2 era through the early 1980's. The main attraction being The Battleship USS Iowa (BB 61).I wanted to show the public that rarely gets to see battleship up close. I also wanted Navy Veterans to see the status of their ship.
