We are a retired British couple whose jobs took us all over the world. For the past 17 years we have lived in Arizona, U.S.A. We would like to come back to Europe, and perhaps live in Italy. Our worry is that we may not be able to enjoy English speaking friends and social life that we have been used to. It would be interesting to know what area of Italy this could reasonably be achieved in. Property prices, and friendships are important to us.

Hi Maureen and John,

Take a look at these projects - www.tricali.co.uk. I am also interested in them and am researching them. Basically they sell houses to foreigners at prices starting from 25, 000 euros (resturcutred and furnished). The good thing is that there should be strong foreign communities building up in these villages and some of them are very close to Rome. They are also backed by the local city councils, so mean that foreigners are welcomed with open arms.

Kind Regards

Lindsey

There are a good number of English-speaking people rehabilitating houses in the Teramo area of Abruzzo. You will have no problem finding folks to socialize with.
