I lived and worked in Jamaica in the 70s. I am married to a Jamaican. I loved Jamaica and now that I have taken early retirement I am considering moving to Jamaica. Every time I discuss this with friends, other Jamaicans and other retirees here in the UK, they express their shock and horror over the probability of being a victim of violent crime. Such a beautiful country, such a bad reputation. I am still thinking about reitiring to Jamaica. Financially it is not an issue, and perhaps I could resume my profession. My wife is concerned regarding crime. Any thoughts on this? Any experience with this? Any thoughts on Cost of LIving. I have lived, worked and travelled throughout the world, and I know everywhere has good and bad, but Jamaica has such a bad reputation. My experiences were not bad, but it was a long time ago.
