I am a British woman living in Amman for two years. My husband is British and has a job here. I have 3 daughters, twins aged 8 and a 4 year old. I am feeling a little isolated while husband at work and dread kids going to school. Would be nice to meet/chat to other people in a similar situation.

Hi MandyI am from South Africa married to a jordanian, living in Madaba, Jordan. Well I too dont know anyone around here & I have just started learning arabic. My main language is English. It sure does get lonely sometimes, I spend all day at home. I dont have any kids. Perhaps we could meet sometime to chat. I hope your situation gets easier. Take care. I would also welcome any other South African women contacting me.

Hi YasminGood to hear from you. I have been to Madaba to see all the historic sights, so you don't live to far from Amman. Do you drive? I don't drive as we only have one car (which husband uses for work). I find driving very scarey here as the rules on the road are very different from the UK. Good on you for learning Arabic, I am trying through books and cd's but find it quite difficult. Do you have an Arabic teacher or self learning? How long have you lived in Jordan? We have been here 2 months now. Kids have started school so its quite lonely now without them around. Be nice to here from you again or any other foreign Ladies new to Jordan.
