I'm about to come live in Macau & will need to rent accommodation. Is it possible to get a furnished apartment? I'm looking for something that's not at the top end of the range - any ideas what a 2-bedroom place would cost? Any tips about renting? Any pitfalls to be wary of?Any assistance would be much appreciated.

You could look at some of the older blocks at Ocean Gardens on Taipa. For example Magnolia Court or Plum Court. Call Sonny Lim at Midland Realty 853 752 567, he was very helpful.Another good guy is Danilo at Mirr 853 524 496, he gave us lots of good advice. I can't help you a lot on prices but a small (1422 sq ft) 3 bed in Kingsville (top end) was available at HK$11,900 per month. We were looking for high spec 3-4 bedrooms and expect to pay HK$15-20K per month. Good luck! Caroline

We just found a two bedroom apartment in Nova Taipa for 4500 a month. It's small but clean and fully furnished. I think for mid-range 2 bedrooms on Taipa you can expect to pay between 4000 and 5000 per month. A little less in Macau.

Hi,I'm looking for a place to rent in Macau and I came upon Helen Garden in Coloane. Does anyone know what it's like? We're expecting to stay a long time in Macau and would like something comfortable with swimming pool access and two bedrooms (we have no kids) Are there any other complexes like Ocean Gardens and helen Gardens? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Carefull with MIRR!!! They will rent u something and in two months they will call u asking to move or for a rental increase!!!! Very troublesome!!!Apartments in Ocean Gardens around MOP5000, do not fall into the HKD deal!! Always bargain!!! Don't forget that real estate agents will take u as Kwai Los (foreigners) and will try to rip u as much as they can!!! Hellene Garden is a very nice place, but with a poor construction - as everywhere in Macau. If u are willing to spend MOP15000/MOP20000 try the Cheok Van Villas.

My family & I will be relocating to Macau in a few monthsLooking for something nice for MOP13000 (max) unfurnished is fine. What about Kingsville, Nova Taipa or somewhere quite and convenient with supermarkets and public amenities. Must have nice kitchen & air cons. We have lived in Macau many years ago and the quality of construction is quite bad. Are there any buildings of better standard nowadays?
