Macedonia beat Iceland 2-0 to keep it in contention for a place in The World Cup 2010 in South Africa. It left them at seven points from six matches, level with Scotland who have both a superior goal difference and a game in hand. Netherlands, topping the group, have guaranteed their spot in the Suth Africa.
The nine group winners automatically qualify whereas the eight best runner-ups meet in a two leg play-off for another four berths.
