I would like to know where the best area is to live in madagascar. As a South African what do I require to live in Madagascar. Do they have regular and bad cyclones and how often do these occur??? What is the cost of purchasing a house??? Looking forward to hearing from you...

Life is cool if you live simply. The capital Tana tends to suffocate with surpopulation, but the rest of the island is still open. The best place to live depends on what you're looking for, if you're more of exotic, beach, snorkel and stuff, then the west and south western coast is the place for you. If you're more of rainforests, high mountains, roaring rivers and emerald bays then the north and north easter coast. If you prefer (like me) mild temperature, picturesque rice field sceneries, mimosa perfumed paths on foggy hills, then the center highland is your place... The south is rather dry, with all specific desert flaura and fauna, and still crawling with unsuspected life... So what type are you now? ;))

Hi there, We are a late twenties couple, with a 2year old looking to get a bit more out of life than the boring old stereotype life which everyone seems to be chasing nowadays. We were thinking that Madagaskar would be the ideal place. We would like to know what we need to do in order to make this dream a reality. Obviously we would need jobs and accommodation, etc. Could anyone provide us with some more information? Thanks so much Shaz A bit more about ourselves: My husband is in the IT Industry (more specifically a Java developer but qualified as a Computer Systems Engineer) - this means he could almost do anything with computers, fix them, set them up, etc. I recently started working as a Financial Manager but before that my main area was in marketing. I could also teach english and have been contracting with some companies as an Excel Expert.

Living in Madagascar is pretty simple, life is pretty easy, you can start your own business there for like 6 months or less. There are Americans or someone that talks english. It's really cool. I lived there for 14 years, i'm now in the U.S. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
