I plan to retire in about a year. If there is not too much of a red tape and procedural difficulties. I look forward to retire in Mauritius. Any general information regarding retirement/ immigration/ taxes on overseas pension/ approximate cost of living for two people/ healthcare/ a 500 to 900 square feet house/ farmland values upto two acres/
would be appreciated. Do I get from the embassy all the needed papers required for immigration/ permanent residence? A couple of names of low cost accomodations in the general area of the airport would be appreciated because I like to spend few days in Mauritius to evaluate whether I fit in with place. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
May be it is late but I would love to help you.
You will have all details of investing in Mauritius on www.investmauritius.com, which is the government website.
It is better that you travel over here and I can find a temporary accomodation close to the airport for you if you wish.
Usuall you may apply at the nearest embassy in Mauritius. If this is not possible, you will find all documents on the above website and you may apply directly.

I wish to live in mauritius with my family. Is it possible to enter a french car ( on the mauritian territory ? And how much will it cost for the tax ?
