any information for retiring to mauritius

hi, my husband and i would like to retire to mauritius and would be grateful if anybody could give us any info on what the procedure is.(i.e. how much money we need to bring into the country, are we allowed to buy property, how long does the procedure take to become residents, and who do we need to contact for the appropriate application forms etc)

we do not want to work.

also any info on properties would be appreciated.

Hi,

I am working for a freight forwarding/packing and removal company in Mauritius and came accross your request. I beleived you are not Mauritian. I am actually working on some Intergrated Resorts Scheme which are mostly targeted to foreigners. Buying a property in any IRS allows you to stay in Mauritius.

If you are retiring in Mauritius, provided you have an income of 40, 000 USD per annum you will be eligible for a resident permit. After three years you will be entitle to apply for permanent residency if you wish.
