Please let me know what the procedures for my familyand I to relocate to Mauritius are, if we are interested in purchasing property in Mauritius and relocating from South Africa. What are the laws on foreign ownership and how easly would it be to get permanent residency. Are emigrants able to work in your country? are there minimum amounts of money you need to introduce to mauritius on relocation?

My wife is in the Telecommunications sector and I am in IT, we are looking to invest a bit in a B$B to secure some income

while we look for jobs.

If there is anyone who can help me with my enquiries please drop me an email. Thanks Dean

Hi,

I am 60, retired and wish to move to Mauritius.

I have visited many times and also worked there for 6 months.

I may start a small business but it seems more straightforward to retire first.

Is it possible to do this and what is the minimum financial deposit and is this a monthly payment or a sum up front that must be maintained please

Any information or guidance would be appreciated as I plan to visit for a month in November.

I am an SA permanent resident but also have UK citizenship,

Thank you and regards, Colin

I am a postgraduate in law. I have worked in industries of repute in india. My role was predominantly to deal with several laws applicable to industry, notably employment related law.

I WANT A JOB IN A LEGAL FIRM IN Mauritus. How best I can get a job in legal firm , temporary/ on contract/permanent.

Guidance is requested.

Thanks,

My husband and i and our 11 year old son will be relocating to Mauritius in December 2008. We are looking for a 3 bedroom unfurnished house or apartment to rent on a long term lease of approximately 12 months. Our son will be attending Northfield High School and therefore we require the accomodation to be within reasonable distance to the school

Me and my wife are looking to sell our two properties in mauritius. Each is three bedroomed all with en-suite and balcony and have large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge down stairs. Each have a small pool and ample parking and tastefully furnished. We are looking to sell them together and although they are detatched they are built on the same (large) piece of land. Would suit someone looking to live in mauritius and rent out at the same time which was our original plan when we built them three years ago. Please contact me for more information or possible lease.

My family and i are looking to live in Mauritius.

We are English and currently live in South West Portugal.

I am a Bowen Practitioner (neuromuscular manipulation) for illness and all types of pain including sports injury.

I work alongside 5 Doctors whom are seeing a 90% sucsess rate in all cases.

We are in the situation to buy a property or land and build a small house to start.

Would anybody have any advice for me?

I am an experianced surfer so the place looks like heaven for all the family.

Looking through the posts it would appear that a number of people interested to move to Mauritius are not entirely aware of the many routes available to relocate, settle or open a business in Mauritius.

Whilst you can do it the hard and expensive way, there are a number of absolutely legal avenues to easily obtain a residence in Mauritius and set up a business.

We have helped a number of individuals and business obtaining professional permits and residence in Mauritius in 3 days through the Board of Investment.

Drop me a line if you are interested in getting genuine and straightforward assistance. contact@neo.co.mu

My sister is going to be studying in Mauritius for 3 years at the University of Mauritius. Is there any affordable renting for foreign students? She is from Zimbabwe. She is also planning to move with her children. How easy is it for the husband to get a job in Mauritius in accounting or any other related field? Your information will be greatly appreciated

Hi All,

I have read your emails with interest and am currently representing one of the resorts under the Mauritius IRS which allows a non-resident to purchase an immovable property in Mauritius and gain residency.

The minimum value of the property must exceed US$ 500, 000 and must be retained as part of the conditions of the residency. However, the purchaser may choose to rent the property out through the onsite management agency subject to a 15% tax on profit.

I would happily discuss any questions regarding IRS purchasing processes at this resort.

regards,

Mike

Hi

The RES scheme gives you a way to obtain residence $500, 000 US is the minimum for residential purposes. www.masonforbes.mu describes a number of properties that are substantially below the prices of a year ago and yet are built to a very high standard. The show house is ready in November 2009. Great place to reside and not suffering from the recession too much The 5* hotels have had reduced occupancy this year but the number of visitors to Mauritius is not substantially down. We have rented a house for 6 months and now are ready to buy The south west is the area now attracting development but still unspoiled The summer months can be very hot so living a little higher up is favoured by the richer residents of the island and we now understand why. You cannot own a freehold on the beach anyway all beaches are available to the public

There are two books that might help both by Marie Lourdes Lee Yin LAM HUNG a lawyer in Mauritius

ISBN 978-99949-29-01-6 Doing Business In Mauritius does not include the law changes for 2009

By the same author

ISBN 978-99903-22-28-6 China Doing Business In Mauritius which has the new changes

Residence is covered well in this/ I need to declair and interest in advertising in the book but a great book series to support clearly written and simply written though quite complete

Three years ago my wife and I moved to Mauritius from America.. We spent about $25, 000 on the process. We have since become experts and help people come to our home in paradise. We charge a flat fee of $1800 to get your permits. www.petclix.com/m2m.html
