1) Housing...What is the price of renting or starter homes in the area? Just something like a 1 bedroom apartment or such with a kitchen and bathroom, etc? 2) I understand the job situation is poor, but is it as poor as where I am where you cannot even get an interview at 3 super-Walmarts or a gas station? 3) Is there any type of career that is plentiful or in need in the UP. (I doubt it but will ask anyway). Thanks.

Renting in the U.P. ranges from $300 to $500 a month for a single bedroom, usually with utilities included. It's almost impossible to find a job here, even if you're qualified. Try Michigan Works Job Seeker to look for jobs around the areas you're interested in living. You might need a dirtier job than Wal-Mart: think pizza maker, dishwasher, waitress, bartender, cleaning. Marquette General Hospital is always looking for registered nurses. Always. Especially now, there's a big need for it. And a new hospital just opened up in Ishpeming. Good luck.

Hello fellow Yoopers! Guess what? I lost my crappy factory job at Terex in Baraga a few months back. I knew they were going down hill but I never dreamt my job was at stake. Before actually losing my job, I had begun to explore different ways to make money online to supplement my income. Well good thing obviously but the point is that anyone can do it and its fun and easy. You need to check out the program I am currently working with. You will wonder why you never heard of this before! So do not be shy. I am making a wonderful living in only 6 months time and before this, I only knew how to wire blinkers on a forklift. http://vur.me/s/GI Say YA to Da UP, Ehh!
