I have travelled to many a place in the world from the Americas right across the continents to Asia. But truth be told I arrived in Mozambique and fell head over heels in Love with this country. It offers a serene and tranquil experience in tropical paradise. People are vibrant and friendly, the coast line and beaches are simply breathtaking.
Its culture is a heady mix of Portuguese and Arab African. There are lots to see, including world-renowned beaches, World Heritage sites, funky colonial architecture and the cuisine is simply divine.
Mozambique boasts one of the strongest coastal assets in the world, Marine life is present in large quantities and international diving and fishing experts praise its quality.
Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe have joined forces to establish the Great Limpopo Transfrontier National park, which will link the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique, Kruger National Park in South Africa, Gonarezhou National Park, Manjinji Pan Sanctuary and Malipati Safari Area in Zimbabwe. The total surface area of the Transfrontier Park will be approximately 35, 000 km2. The establishment of the Transfrontier Park is the first phase of creating a bigger Transfrontier conservation area measuring a staggering 100, 000 km2.
Tourists will be able to drive across the international borders of the three countries within the boundaries of the park. In addition to the usual game-viewing opportunities, visitors will have a broad range of new attractions including bird-rich tropical wetlands, lake cruises, tiger-fishing, rugged 4 x 4 adventure drives, and much more.
The Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park will be a world-class eco-tourism destination.
A special mention has to go to Botswana too which is also a leading player in fauna and flora conservation.
I am not an analyst but if I were to say that Mozambique with its Tourism potential and South Africa hosting numerous sports activities including the Football World cup with its established Tourist infrastructure. I would be a betting man and put my money on Africa being the next big Tourist destination.
