Am thinking about relocating to windhoek/luderitz areas in about 3 yrs, would appreciate any advice anyone might have for a young brit/german family following their dream. Simple things like, what are the schools really like, is there still community spirit etc.

You may want to check out this site for real life stories about expat life virtually anywhere in the world, including Namibia:

Alternatively, you may want to contact the German Embassy in Windhoek. They have a very useful welcoming package for embassy personnel - many pages answering practical questions on subjects ranging from health facilities to gas prices to pet import regulations - that they would probably not mind sharing with you. It's a bit outdated - I think it was last updated in 2003 - but very useful nevertheless.

I am looking forward to moving to Windhoek in a few months, and these were the two most useful resources I came across.
