ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform any necessary activities for International QC i.e., simulate, correlate, spot, proof, transcribe, translate or perform any other tasks that are required for all SDI Media USA’s products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Excellent writing and proofreading skills

- English reading and writing skills

- A solid command of native culture

- PC skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous translation experience desired.

My English language skills are quit good.

As a matter affact I would like to apply for the job as translator, because of the time span which I am home as a proffesional seafarer.

I am really looking forward to perform translations English into Dutch language.

I have plenty time... I can offer you 24/7 180 days a year. But ofcourse I need to sleep aswell; the other 180 days I am sailing around the world as a Chief Officer all ships, and meeting people.

My English skills were developed from a young age.

In school I studied first 5 years English... then I went to University to study mechanical engineering, another 5 years English, then I studied avionics 2 years English, then computer sciences 1 year english... also my extra English study was called Euro English writing and vocabulary.

Then I did the Bachelor degree on the Maritime Academy where I studied another 4 years English, which is also todays Maritime English.

This makes the total of 17 years of English study... quite amazing

I practiced my English on vacation and for my job proffesionaly for over 20 years.

I can say my level of experience both theoretically and practically are of extraordinary kind and a real value for the job,

I dream in English (how strange...)

Mad for movies.

My name is Christiaan and frankly speaking I have been looking for an opportunity like this. I'm very much used to writing in English after doing so for many years.

Although born and raised in The Netherlands, and thus with a strong comprehension of Dutch language, I do occasionally catch myself thinking or talking to myself in English.

I am pretty motivated to deliver a good job as an English-Dutch translator, since I get frustrated on a regular basis from seeing low-quality translations and subtitles on movies and TV series. The more mistakes I spot, the more I feel like I should try and do a better job myself. This might sound a tad too self-confident, but there's no doubt in my mind I can pull this off.

Of course, I'm not sure whether or not you're still looking for freelance translators. However, if you are - and you're interested - please let me know as soon as you can.
