Can two adults live in reasonable comfort, cleanliness and safety in Nicaragua -- say Leon or Granada -- on $1,225 a month (to cover rent, food, utilities, taxes and a basic healthcare plan)?

I would like to, I think, retire in Nicaraqua, probably within the next year or two.

I would be interested in your prespective as an "Expat" already in Nicaraqua.

Standard Questions: Cost, Houseing, Safety, Night Life, Restrictions, Food, Legal Process, etc.....

Hi newbie here, hello to all. Ok, I would like to know where in Nicaragua are the best climates for a guy who can't take the heat? Now we live in Rivas and it's hot for us. Where can we find more moderate "Fresca" weather, in the 72-75 degrees? Thanks to all replies in advance.

I am hoping to retire to Nicaragua in the next year or two and would love to hear from others who have already done so. I'm single and want to know about security of the country in general. Also, I would like to hear from anyone who lives on the lakes. Or, actually, from anywhere in the country. I'm planning on visiting in the fall or winter and want to have a realtor ready to take me looking for a home/condo. Any suggestions from anyone down there? I'd love to hear from someone who's done it and has any suggestions, advice, warnings, etc. Thanking you in advance. Carol
