Your "misfits" and "oddballs" may well make for my ideal neighbors.

I'm a 54 year old female wanting to retire in the highlands of Panama. A small condo or home will do. Is Boquete the best region to do this? How much does it take to live realtively comfortably each month?

Hi Everyone, I have built such a community in Nicaragua. Having grown up in development, I can honestly say that building this community in Nicaragua was one of the most difficult things that I have done. That said, it is finished with some great things happening there. I must agree that smaller projects in Nicaragua are much more feasible and blend much better into the environment with the local neighbors. You can see what I am talking about at www.elcaminodelsol.com or www.nicayoga.com. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at info@elcaminodelsol.com. Sincerely, Jason

My husband and I have lived outside the U.S. for the past eleven years. We have spent six in Costa Rica nd five in Nigaragua. We have had businesses in both places but much prefer Nicaragua for manyu reasons. One is the cost of living is very inexpensive. The second is that it is considered the safest country in Central America and we can vouch for that personally. The third is the business opportuinities are abundant and the startup costs minimal. Granada has a large community of retired, single women who are enjoying life and getting involved in the community. My husband and I run a real estate company, a property management company, a construction company and several tour businesses and yet we still have time to enjoy time with friends and on our farm. IF anyone would like more information, I will be happy to direct you to other retirees so you can get firsthand information.

I am driving down within the next few months-maybe sooner depending on how my liquidation of US holdings proceeds. My French Bulldog (Punkin Pie) will be looking for a place to hang our hats. My 58 year old eyes will be looking at Nicatagua and Costa Rica. Got room for a rider. Ralph 305 434 2723
