JOBS IN NIGERIA.

I AM A NIGERIAN, AND I HAVE LIVED IN NIGERIA FOR OVER 30 YEARS BEFORE MOVING TO THE UK FOR STUDIES.

I WANT TO SINCERELY WARN THOSE WHO ARE SAYING THAT THEY GOT A JOB OFFER AND THEY ARE ASKING THEM TO PAY MONEY FOR VISA. DON'T EVER GIVE ANYBODY MONEY FOR VISA.IT IS COMPLETE FRAUD, CALLED 419 IN NIGERIA.IF THE COMPANY HAS SO MUCH MONEY TO HIRE YOU FROM ABROAD, THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE MONEY TO PAY FOR YOUR VISA, WHICH IS USUALLY VERY CHEAP WHEN COMPARED TO WHAT YOU GET FROM THE DEVLOPED WORLD. AND A FAR CRY FROM WHAT THE FRAUDSTERS ARE ASKING YOU TO GIVE. PLEASE DON'T GIVE.

IF YOU HAVE GOT A JOB OFFER THERE ARE THINGS YOU SHOULD DO.

1. GO TO NIGERIAN EMBASSY IN YOUR COUNTRY, TELL THEM ABOUT THE OFFER.

2 GET INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPANY FROM THE EMBASSY AND CALL THEM.

3. IF IT IS AN INTERNATIONAL COMPANY CALLED THEIR OVERSEAS OFFICE.

4. THERE ARE HUNDEDS OF THOUSANDS OF OTHER NATIONAS LIVING IN NIGERIA (ESPECIALLY INDIANS AND PAKISTANIS), SO GET IN TOUCH WITH FELLOW COUNTRY MEN WHO WOULD GIVE GOOD ADVICE.

HAVING SAID THAT, NIGERIA IS A VERY GOOD COUNTRY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GOT GENUINE OFFERS. EXPATRIATES ARE WELL PAID ABOVE THE LOCALS. MOST EXPATRIATES LIVE FAR BETTER THAT THOSE IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES(US AND OTHERS). FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU GET A GOOD ENGINEERING OFFER, YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO GOOD SALARY (BOTH DOLLARS AND LOCAL CURRENCY), HOUSING, CARS, COOK, GARDENER, E.T.C.

ON SAFETY, NIGERIA IS RELATIVELY SAFE JUST LIKE MOST PARTS OF THE WORLD, WITH ISOLATED VIOLENCE. BUT THIS LITTLE VIOLENCE ARE USUALLY BLOWN OVER BY THE WESTERN MEDIA. THE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY.

MY ADVICE IS, IF THE OFFER IS GENUINE, TAKE IT, YOU WILL ENJOY.

BUT REMEMBER DO NOT GIVE ANYONE ANY MONEY.

The best things is to go to the Nigeria embassy in your country and inform them of the offer. They will guide you about the procedure. meanwhile you can give me the name of the company and then I can give you the number to call, and also make some inquiries for you. But remeber don't ever give anybody any money.

Please give some info , where would be the best accomodation (a nice big house with swimming pool, airconditioning etc in Lagos/Abuja)Where do you find reliable domestic help/gardener etc

I have been offerred a job with SONA Group at Lagos in Nigeria with local pay of N70, 000 (single status) with house, servant, car with driver and also benefits. I am an indian and will be travelling outside hte country for the first time. By qualification, I am a chartered accountant. Please advise, if i should accept the offer and join. The person who interviewed (Director)was an Indian and Head of Group Finance is also an Indian
