Tourist in Oman

I am an Irish girl hoping to visit Oman in the new year with a group of friends on our way to Thailand. We have heard that it is an amazing country and with only 2 weeks we want to spend every moment seeing all the beautiful places that Oman has to offer. Can anyone suggest the best way to make the most of our time there?

Hi Lauren,

I have been living in Oman for over a year and I still only have a fraction of the amazing places seen so no matter how hard you try you won't see Oman in 2 weeks. What I do suggest though is that you contact a company called Desert Adventures (www.omanadventure.com), I recently went on a tour with them to the desert camp of Wahiba Sands for 2 nights and 3 days and it was fantastic. They have lots of other trips to choose from and you would certainly have no problem filling your 2 weeks with non stop sight seeing. They are currently the only expat-run tourism company of their kind here so I strongly reccommend using them. They are based in Muscat and their number is 00968-95201107, ask for Jon.

Oman is one of the best countries of Arabia. It is the land of Zindbad the Sailor.

I agree with Paps that Mark Tours and Rent a Car is the No:1 DMC in Oman. Some of my German colleagues recently made a visit to Wahiba sands and Nizwa, through this Agency. They believe in providing service with a personal touch. I strongly recommend you to contact them

We have lived in Muscat for many years now and would highly recommend you go with the locals! I much prefer in any country to help support local endeavours.
